There's a woman in my dissertation workshop writing about personal-transformation makeover shows. I bet you and she could have a great conversation or 5.

Sounds cool. Wish I were around Montreal to hear it.

When Mukulika Banerjee and Daniel Miller were promoting their book about "the sari" a few years back, Prof. Miller (of whom I'm usually a fan) took around a presentation entitled 'How it feels - as an Indian woman - to wear a sari'.

Allegedly this talk involved him wearing a sari. Reports of it were, er, mixed.

Perhaps you could give a talk on 'How it feels - as an overpaid white male full professor - to pontificate about women's clothing.'
